Restoration | Stream, Fisheries and Habitat << Return to Projects

Client: USFWS Region 1
Location: McCall, Idaho
For this design/build project, the holding ponds would be in- ground and constructed from concrete with an overall outside footprint of approximately 106-feet long by 27-feet wide. The holding pond structure would include two ~88-ft long by ~12.5-ft wide ponds, going from ~5-ft to ~5.5-ft deep, divided by a concrete wall in the middle, with a common ~12-feet wide head channel at the west end which would connect the two ponds. Screen panels could be installed on the upstream end of both ponds to isolate them from one another after sorting of the adults has occurred. Design shall follow recommendations from National Marine Fishery Service (NMFS) for holding ponds. Consideration for fish crowder efforts/equipment and consideration for temperature changes for fish upon arrival were also addressed in the design. This project was designed by Quadrant Consulting Services and River Structures.
