Twin Falls Dam | Twin Falls Park Improvements
Construction | Heavy Civil & Public Works Construction << Return to Projects
Twin Falls Park is located on the south bank of the Snake River just upstream of Twin Falls Dam and hydroelectric plant. The road gets as narrow as 14’ wide, making it essentially a one-way road, and views along the road are blocked by rock outcroppings which can make traveling this road, especially while towing a boat, very dangerous. In 2023, Idaho Power Company selected the team to complete improvements to the park including widening the road and installing a new pedestrian stairway from the park grounds to the reservoir level to enhance pedestrian access from the boat docks and swimming area to the restroom and picnic areas. For the road widening, the project removed 350 lineal feet of a rock slope to widen the road from 14 feet, at the narrowest, to a consistent 31 feet wide to accommodate a 26-foot-wide road plus a 5-foot shoulder. This project included construction of a bypass road bridge and installing sheet piling to divert water through a temporary culvert for removing the existing 24” culvert and replacing it with a new 36” HDPE culvert and armoring both sides of the road.
